I started with just two classes on one blog, then I added two more after I got used to the routine. I'm not sure if I would put 150 on the same blog. It becomes overwhelming for them as well as you -- do they know what to look at? They might give up if there's just too much there to see. Would it make sense to talk about "partner classes"? That way two of your classes could see each other as partners in the conversation, and the blog is their way to talk through their classroom walls. I would love to hear how it goes for you!
Those are great ideas and thank you and I am not sure how you do this. This is the first time I have been responsible for so many students. We used to have 60 students and teach two subjects and now I have 155 and teach only one. Would love to get together with you sometime and chat. I know that you are really good at what you do and I also really like the ideas you just gave me. Maybe will just do with the 8th grade- (I have only 3 classes of them). Thanks Laura- would you be open to getting together sometime???
p.s. are you working on your MA?
Would love to get together... Let's switch to messages to figure out when and where.
What kind of messages? my email is mbryan@nvusd.k12.ca.us
Will that work?
p.s Cassidy (sister of Cooper) is totally bummed to not have you as her teacher. Just thought I would share.
I found this blog about managing student comments and blogs using Google Reader. Hope this helps:
